Flight News Updates DLC Sneak Peek: Journey to Alaska!

We're excited to announce some upcoming DLC: journey with us to Alaska, with over 1.5 million square kilometers (~600,000 square miles) of captivating scenery, new aircraft and additional missions! Check out the screenshots below for an advance look.

March 5, 2012 4:52 PM

Looking nice! :-)

March 5, 2012 4:54 PM

Maybe a few helis in this one? Can't wait to fly SAR in Alaska!

March 5, 2012 5:08 PM

Nice shots! But please don't overprice this DLC.

March 5, 2012 5:11 PM

"with over 1.2 million miles" - you mean square miles, right?

March 5, 2012 5:14 PM

How much?

March 5, 2012 5:20 PM

Nice scenery! Which planes become available?

March 5, 2012 5:24 PM

@HackPayload690: The Dassault Falcon 2000.

March 5, 2012 5:30 PM

Hope the DHC-2 is included

March 5, 2012 5:31 PM

I HOPE this isn't OVERPIRCED! Please guys make it reasonable I mean cmon. It's suppose to be a flight simulator we aren't suppose to be paying for addon maps and areas....

March 5, 2012 5:33 PM

Keep 'em coming!

March 5, 2012 5:37 PM

Very nice I hope it's here soon.

But I'd much rather have the "ATC & AI Traffic" DLC, when can we expect that one?

March 5, 2012 5:42 PM

Looking forward to this. I hope we get a free aircraft with this because we can't fly from Hawaii to Alaska in a Maule.

March 5, 2012 5:50 PM

Ironic to me since after one day of playing this game I thought 'I would like this in Alaska'.  Take my monies Microsoft!

March 5, 2012 5:55 PM

Enjoying flight, Thanks.  Excited for Alaska.

I appreciate the achievements, mission, and challenges.

I would appreciate a Cape Canaveral DLC (or even seperate expansion). For test flights, or even legacy shuttle missions, etc.

March 5, 2012 6:07 PM

Strangely enough, when I saw the cityscape the theme from "Cops" came to mind and then something about"...the men and women of flight simulation."

March 5, 2012 6:11 PM

This new DLC looks really impressive. I'm very much looking forward to this extra scenery to explore. Will any planes be included in this new DLC? I just hope the price is reasonable for it. Is there any word on a release date yet?

Keep up the good work.

March 5, 2012 7:23 PM

Oooo Pretty Pictures :-p Just in time Hawaii almost completed

March 5, 2012 7:44 PM

OMG this is what i want to see in Flight o.o

March 5, 2012 7:45 PM

The screenshots are impressive. But what is more impressive is the fact that you are already pursuing new content and not resting on your laurels. Don't overprice it and you'll be sure to have a winner.

March 5, 2012 7:47 PM

how many airplanes does it have

March 5, 2012 7:48 PM

its looking good

March 5, 2012 7:49 PM

If it have 3 airplanes is its going to need more airplanes

n00b training
March 5, 2012 8:01 PM

I hope there will be more airplanes and possibly new helis in this DLC, I also hope that it won't be overpriced.

March 5, 2012 8:17 PM

I have no problem spending $50 or so TOTAL for a great game, but I'm not going to keep shelling out cash for "add-ons".  Great start, but I want to see more planes (LOTS MORE including airliners) and ATC.  I'm afraid of what the rest of the US is going to cost.  I've spent $30 or so already on Hawaii and one plane.  I'm not going to keep spending!

March 5, 2012 8:31 PM

put the planes with full cabin and touchables inside parts

insiide crew announcement and everything

make the turbulence more real

ai traffic sound

copilot in my flight tallking and helping the checklist (for make the flight more interesting bcs is so boring flight alone)

optiion of we can be a passenger and enjoy the flight and the cpu be the pilot

option of choose the flight depend of the airport

March 5, 2012 8:31 PM

I flew around Alaska for three years and it was the most beautiful and stunning flying I've ever seen.  Here's hoping Flight can help bring a bit of that feeling back.  Also some bigger planes!

March 5, 2012 9:00 PM

Asking for this to be a reasonable price is just wasting your time.  It maybe, from the looks of it so far, a DLC  I'll actually purchase though.

March 5, 2012 9:17 PM

Espero y este pronto ya que volar es divertido y conocer esos lugares por lo menos en los juegos gracias

March 5, 2012 10:17 PM

I'd also rather have a co pilot that helps. The smart ass ones that fly cargo with me are a pain. They make snide comments or take a nap. Otherwise you get the girl that says something like "oooh i'm straight out of school and get a freight run already?" How bout helping with the run up, sweetie?

And, please god...multi engine (A baron will do), and VOR and DME. Please?

March 5, 2012 10:18 PM

Awesome! I hope there will be some military jets available for this title. :p

March 5, 2012 11:19 PM

I would LOVE to see some airline based missions with passenger jets and such as I enjoyed the ones a lot in FSX. I also wish some sort of built in interface to interact more with passengers like Fspassengers will emerge.

I agree with those who said do not overprice this. If Microsoft wants more consumers then offer the content at a reasonable price which would help expand the market and keep the market stable.

March 5, 2012 11:33 PM

Keep 'em coming!

March 5, 2012 11:39 PM

Really excited for this, I'm hoping however the next DLC will be Washington state. It was my favorite place to fly in FSX other than Hawaii and Alaska actually, nothing like flying around in your home state!

March 5, 2012 11:50 PM

VOR - DME would be great, and I would like to see the overhead console on the A5 work as it should, and also being able to get the transponder and all the AI stuff going would be great, I am still going back to FSX, mostly because I fly online with friends but also because I dont want to have to go spend money to rent a plane, and being able to control everything is awesome. Very excited for Alaska flying. would like to see baron or something else, a nice cessna would be good too.

March 6, 2012 12:42 AM

I had a feeling it was going to be Alaska, awesome!

March 6, 2012 2:16 AM

Holy cow, ok ok..this brings in a whole new degree of issues like icing, might as well start throwing money at the screen, MSF are you taking pre-orders I will just leave you my Credit Card.

I can see the need for the, which I heard has an AP issue on the facebook page, someone asked 'how to turn it on' there a problem?

March 6, 2012 2:24 AM

Hopefully this is reasonably priced...

March 6, 2012 2:48 AM [Remove this Comment]

This looks gorgeous! Now I´m looking for the fast forward button to speed up time until release of this DLC.

And please include a decent snow storm weather option with icing and slippery runways.

March 6, 2012 3:11 AM

VOR, DME, and ILS are in the game already guys =) You do need the RV-6 or Maule to use it tho.

I think this new DLC looks stunning, and will be a must buy for me.

March 6, 2012 3:23 AM

March 6, 2012 3:24 AM

Well....that's very door news!! Looking stunning and i cant wait to handle some jobs overthere! Meanwhile im flying jobs over Hawaii. There are some things that makes flying very tough. Im using a logitech Extreme 3d joystick. Allthough i also have a complete Saitek Pro flight setup, i cant use it cause of the control inputs. It would be very nice if there are options to setup the controller deadzone and sensitivity. Right now we can fumble around in a XML file, which will do fine, but it would be very nice to adjust those settings within the game.

Weather: as far as i have discovered the weather does not change accordingly to the randomness of missions. It is the weather you set within the weather options of the free flight menu. It would be nice to have different weather conditions for jobs (not to set by yourself).

I truly miss a altitude pressure barometer setting.

And yes...asked so many times but here it is again: TrackIR. I now the Xbox does not support it but it would be a real gain(!) for a lot of people. When i want to look around i must use the hat switch. But with the sensitivity of my controller looking around with the hat switch takes me out the perfect elevator and aileron trim.

Maule: Fuel gauges. AS i have about 12% fuel in both tanks, both fuel gauges are displaying about 40 to 50 %.

Probably ATC is hard to implement, but at least implement ATIS so we now what to expect during takeoff's and landings.

Keep on doing the great job guys!!

March 6, 2012 3:24 AM

door(??) = good!

March 6, 2012 3:49 AM

Alright guys. The new scenery looks awesome! You already have me hooked and ill probably buy any DLC content you put out for this (EXCEPT for basic planes without cockpits).

If we could have ATC added it would be REALLY appreciated by everyone. I know you have received a heaps of feedback regarding this. Please listen.

March 6, 2012 3:55 AM

This looks amazing!!!

Hopefully this is reasonably priced.

March 6, 2012 4:16 AM

Looking forward to the DLC, hope its not overpriced indeed. Some visual tweaking would be nice...e.a. Raindrops rolling over the on windscreen when it is raining would be great. Also i liked the 'search and rescue' mission a lot (only have seen 1 so far), so i hope we'll get more of them!

March 6, 2012 5:26 AM

And another visual tweak...would be nice to see rivers actually flow, instead of them just looking like 'lake- seawater'. When looking at the pics above, the water looks nice but it lacks the stream and the right reflections (rushing water has barely any reflection).

March 6, 2012 5:32 AM

Great but if ur gonna overpricing it, im gonna forget u!

March 6, 2012 5:50 AM

Awesome images and an inspired choice of location!

March 6, 2012 6:02 AM

I love the new DLC.....

thanks for the great work on MS Flight

March 6, 2012 6:15 AM

I'm just hoping that its going to be less than €19.99.. I also wish that they'd sort out the twitchiness of the aircraft themselves..

March 6, 2012 6:16 AM

Hopefully it is not overpriced like hawaii and the other planes...

at that rate, it's going to cost a few thousand dollars to get north and south america...

and I just won't buy it...

already spent 30$ on hawaii and the maule... more than enough for such a small area of flight

March 6, 2012 6:20 AM

I have FSX, even if at the moment FLIGHT is poor of planes and locations, the game started very well! ( I think quality is better than quantity)

I have some suggestions:

-I would like some more visual effects (sun twinkle and rain drops).

-radio control, in free flight, for instructions and takeoff/landing requests (like in FSX).

- big airplanes (boeing 787, etc…), but this problem is related with the absence of locations.

-trackIR support

-prices are too high...

I also experienced this kind of "visual effect bug"

While flying in free flight mode I noticed that the clouds generator creates a sort of matrix of cloud with the clouds of the same column identical (form and distance). This effect is also noticeable in the screenshot of Alaska (the sky over the city). When you fly in the direction of the "columns of clouds" the sky seems to be very artificial.

waiting for Italy :-)

(I am sorry for my poor english...)

March 6, 2012 8:14 AM

Great very great job Microsoft Team! ... i ll wait now also all entire world!!!!!!!

March 6, 2012 8:17 AM

Absolutely stunning!  Can't wait to get this one!  I'm wasn't interested in the Hawaii area, but I'll be purchasing this DLC.  Keep them rolling out, and give us a good mix of world and USA locations.  I do have a question about the areas.  Are they going to be released covering a whole state at a time?  If so, I look forward to being able to fly from airport to airport  Can't wait for some in the continental U.S.

Mithrin Elendil
March 6, 2012 8:41 AM

Very cool. Will definitely pick this one up! Alask has always been a favourite place to fly in any sim.

March 6, 2012 9:53 AM

Olala ... ;)

March 6, 2012 9:56 AM [Remove this Comment]

Well. hmm, let me see. FS 9 as well als FSX come with a world wide scenery, right?

OK, now let´s get a little provocative here. Now, for starters - how often have you been to the Tri-Cities-Airport at Pasco, WA or maybe to Haven Wood Airport, Salem, MO unless that´s right round your corner? Never? OK, me neither.

Let me see, what about Aeropuerto di Chachapoays, Peru or Pricinpe da Beira airport in Brasil?

Never? OK, me neither.

So what with Goz Beida airport in Tchad od Gbadolite Airport in the Domocratic Republic of Congo? Never heard of? Me neither.

So what does that tell us? The heck with a world wide scenery coverage if covers areas that nobody ever cares going there (Of course excuse me, if you just happen to live in one of those places I´ve dared to mention above)

So I´d rather pay a fortune and go island hopping all the way from San Juan way down to Port of Spain instead of having to find my way to Kaduna Domestic in Nigeria. See, what I mean. OK.

March 6, 2012 10:13 AM

Wow, very good! Please don't overprice this DLC, and remember Europe, you have so many fans!

March 6, 2012 10:27 AM

Yes, keep it coming, please. I'm one of the FSX (and earlier versions, since 4) fans who doesn't complain about the simulation (too much :) I still find it exciting! But please, can we have TrackIR support!!!!! I enjoy the aerobatics missions, especially in RV6, but TrackIR is what I need to fully enjoy those missions. Red Bull air races were my favorite in FSX.

March 6, 2012 10:51 AM

I am flying MS Flight Simulators for more than 20 years. I own my Private Pilot License for gliders and single engine pistons. I am trying almoust every (civil) flight simulator. And I have to say that this is already a great year for us, as we got MS Flight and AeroflyFS.

I love MS Flight as it runs absolutely smoothly, and the visual (weather) effects are awesome. The missions are so much fun to fly!

Hawaii is wonderful to fly around, and landing on those small airstrips is teriffic.

The flight models are the best I ever noticed. E.g. when you open the cockpit doors, the gliding angle drops instantly and of course the noise increases.

ALASKA is a MUST HAVE for me!! Please hurry! And please add some cosy fire places beside the runways ;-)

What I also consider as a MUST HAVE is:

TRACK IR  ----------- TRACK IR ----------------- TRACK IR ------------- TRACK IR

I would spend a fourtune for EUROPE, especially Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

For the Multiplayer I wish that all of my unlocked aircraft are placed at my "home airfield" and that one can get out of the aircraft and move to another one (like in Take On Helicopters), there you also can take a seat as a copilot. This would be very nice, too.

All in all! MS Flight, you just made my day!

March 6, 2012 12:02 PM

When the DLC Alaska will be release ?

March 6, 2012 12:17 PM

love flight have 6 core cpu nvidia 560 but have micro stutters at below 1000 ft at any speed.

Please work on this microsoft

March 6, 2012 1:16 PM

Some Helis would be nice (and maybe some SAR missions) and please stop overpricing, or make each DLC free/reduced once the next one comes out?

P.S. Maybe somewhere in the UK for a future DLC?

March 6, 2012 1:21 PM

Looks really nice guys!

Really waiting for ATC and VOR, NDB, ILS, localizer, plates, charts etc!

March 6, 2012 1:27 PM

Hope UK and Europe comes out soon as thats were I live dont really want to fly around USA

March 6, 2012 1:46 PM

Dont but without TRACK IR support.

Vitor Rosado
March 6, 2012 2:00 PM

Nice scennery!

Keep showing your good work, but please make it cheaper than hawaii.

Jakub Prusak
March 6, 2012 2:09 PM

This is looking good, I cant wait for this to come out. But please dont overprice this and make it a reasonable price. Dont make the price higher than £10 please.

March 6, 2012 2:50 PM

The DLC needs releasing quicker than this, X-Plane 10 is shaping up to be the best alternative if Microsoft doesn't pull it's finger out.

We needs choppers, turboprops, jets, more light aircraft i.e cessna 172T, more areas to fly over and discover and plenty more aerocache challenges.

Bugs need addressing, traffic needs adding to those roads, ATC needs adding in for realism, airports and sky needs planes (lots of them), more graphic options need to be added to the menu i.e antialising levels, for those tweakers!!

The DLC price needs seriously reducing too. its a little overpriced, seriously this game could be so much better, im on the fence, slightly leaning toward xplane10 right now...

March 6, 2012 3:19 PM

I'm thinking they will need more weather options for Alaska or better yet a weather engine, did anybody notice in the awards section, theres awards for going around the world and many more can't remember them now.

Some boats might be fun, I really would like some AI, Autopilot, better clouds and weather.

March 6, 2012 3:42 PM

I hope it's not $19.99 per state. I can't afford it. There will have to be more planes, cause coming from FSX and Xplane, I need at least a plane from each class...

1. small jet mandatory

2. TurboProps

3. IFR propeller

4. VFR propeller are well covered at

5. Very Happy with current Ultra Lights

March 6, 2012 4:01 PM

I really enjoy this game,only...if hawaii cost 20 euro, how much cost Alaska?the price for addons is too much high!!And looking at Hawaii dlc the quality dont deserve the price.....Sorry for my english :-)

March 6, 2012 4:15 PM

You guys know that there was 10's of millions to be made with FSX and third party addons right? MS is not going to open source this product and they will make great addons which they will be the ones making the millions. Just making you guys aware of this and yes this addon will be $25 to $30 USD. Will they be worth it? If you have the extra money yes they will be worth it.

March 6, 2012 5:39 PM

Wow!  This looks awesome and quick to be announced!! I'm totally in!  BTW - for those new to Flight and flight simming $20 for all of Hawaii is VERY reasonable.  Orbx addons, as an example for Darrington 1S2 is $33 USD just for one airport!!  It's awesome btw but that is what FSX add-on scenery is going for!  Now seems Orbix is pushing for Prepar3D so add a monthly fee just to use the sim software.  Flight is a TOTAL BARGAIN!! Can't wait for this one guys!!

March 6, 2012 5:39 PM

A long life to  MS FLIGHT, a good job !

I fly since the first flight simulator....

Old real pilot of glider.

Best regards

March 6, 2012 5:57 PM

I’ve been holding back on making comments prior to giving MSF a good go!

It’s a very impressive framework and from the blogs/interviews it sounds like a lot is in the pipeline.

Paying for addons is the right approach. In the real world, we get what we pay for. Low/cheap products ONLY frustrate end users and ruin the experience (FSX for example).

I bought FSX and played it a few times because it would lockup my system and cause it to crash. The root causes could have been the poor design (lets pack everything together) or 3rd Party addons. Which leads me to making another point,  why open MSF via SDK? Just keep providing us the addons (Airplanes, ATC,  Weather, Flight Planning etc). Microsoft has been and is the subject matter expert, just keep expanding on that!

Gone are the days where for $100 you’ll get a bunch of aircrafts and the low res world. The world is ever changing, wouldn’t it be nice to upgrade locations, flight approaches etc to keep it as real as it gets!? I believe with MSF, we have that option. Because it’s a non 3rd party

Addon, quality is maintained (Design and Tested).

One final note, I was looking to upgrade my PC to match MSF high level recommended requirements. However even with the high settings in MSF, my PC is running smooth (its 2 years old - med spec for FSX, saving me 3K or so). I’m so impressed with the quality of product! I can use part of that money to buy addons. Also it will be nice to see some standard hardware addons supported or provided by MS. (i.e joysticks, rudders, radio rack, FMC etc)

March 6, 2012 6:12 PM

Amazing news, can't wait. =)

However, I also can't wait the day when the whole world will be available, even in a low-resolution or lite version. I just miss flying above Western Europe so much... =)

March 6, 2012 6:12 PM

Hipe it hace atc  b767 b 787 360 and many traffic and more realistic airports

March 6, 2012 6:14 PM

Hope it have atc b767  b787 a380 more traffic and realistic and more airports

March 6, 2012 6:19 PM

Well I need everything that was asked above, and also the whole of Spain with its islands.

Without having to sell my organs, of course... ;)

Bien yo necesito todo lo que pidieron arriba, y también España entera con sus islas.

Sin tener que vender mis organos, claro... ;)

March 6, 2012 6:32 PM

hope the multi-display support hasent gone forgotten... without immersive display, i might aswell stick to fsx or give elite a chance

if you shouldnt know what i mean:

the closest you can get to actually get to FEELING flight, without having to get a full flight simulator, is by covering the entire angle of sight with the simulation.

this creates an optical illusion, which will actually make you feel like moving

3-5 displays or beamers are enough to get started and shouldnt be such a great software issue.

if just those instruments wouldnt stretch, to an unreadable something...

additionally that would also solve the difficulty of reading the small instruments without zooming or HUD

and maybe something for the FAQ:

how/why should someone disable the HUD, if there is no other way to determine pressure or wind conditions? (and i already mentioned the small instruments)

thanks for the hard work!

PS: will there be any multi-engine aircrafts?

March 6, 2012 6:39 PM

My guess is that it will cost 1600 MP and come with one plane.  Then you will be able to purchase 2 additional planes separately for probably for 1200 MP each.  It already costs $43 to buy everything and so far its only the Hawaiian islands and 5 planes.  I'm betting in the end, this game will cost over $200 to own everything and still wont be nearly as big of a world and as many planes as FSX: Gold Edition (and you can get that off amazon for less than $30)

At least you know they will be putting the SR-71 in the game at some point.  If that Aerocache is going to stay in the game where you have to reach over 80,000 feet, and the only plane to be able to go that high is the SR-71......2+2 will always equal 4

March 6, 2012 6:56 PM

Hey, Fellow Simmers,

I see questions about adjusting joystick sensitivity, null zones, etc.  If you go over to the Avsim Flight Forum and the Avsim tutorial forum, you'll find suggestions on how to deal with these problems.  Hopefully Microsoft will soon fix the joystick interface so we'll have more options for making fine adjustments in our various joystick setups.  In the meantime, it's possible to make these adjustments by editing certain files. Good luck!

March 6, 2012 7:08 PM

we all know its going to be way over priced!

March 6, 2012 9:10 PM

Whatzz Up, this is looking nice but can someone can help me the Xbox Live membreship Gold for 48 Hours? i'm silver :(

March 6, 2012 10:51 PM

I just did something excellent with mouse control. I flew through the Arch on the beach to get the aerocoach, and I got in on video. I soon as I can I will be posting it, it is the best flying I have ever doen.

I wish the crashes left damage on the ground and the plane broke up for a while. The other thing I would really like, is the ability to drop coloured paint/flour bombs. And I would really like to be able to shoot stuff and blow some stuff up.

Shooting ballons is fine, blowing up, rubbish dumps or old buildings that are due for demolition coukld be fun too.

any chance any of these things will happen?

March 6, 2012 11:04 PM

Hope it will not cost the world again...

March 7, 2012 12:06 AM

I think that it looks amazing just annoyed it costs so much as i think many will agree that microsoft flight simulator gold gave u the whole world for 90 or less plus loads of planes compared with this that could ending up costing hundreds i think its really good just over priced:(

March 7, 2012 12:23 AM

They're not going to add TrackIR support !

March 7, 2012 1:32 AM

Flight seems to be a clever way for Microsoft to make extra money.  I didn't realize that everything in Flight would cost money.  As some said, you may get better quality because the add ons are provided by Microsoft, but you end up stuck at just a few locations unless you want to pay more for other locations.

I think FSX, while it may not have as good quality of graphics, is a much better deal.  If you are looking for a game to collect coins and run missions, this might be it, but if you want an actual flight simulator this is definitely not even close.

March 7, 2012 1:32 AM

all will come to those who flight sim x came out with quite a few aircraft..a whole world to fly around...all other aircraft and missions were either dlc or flight is an exciting points can b obtained from local retailers..3000pts for around $40.00au.....unless microsoft listen to our plea's..b prepared to shell out to obtain all u want...great sim micro'...can't wait to fly around the world...also hope to see dlc on airlines..such as klm, british airways, quantas, and such.was wicked flying 747 routes around the world in conjunction with real world time tables in flight sim x...micro,,,we simmer's have great expectations on this one...

March 7, 2012 3:41 AM

hope you guys can price this one reasonably.. i have about 30 students in my flight training school and i hope to introduce this if it is reasonable.. but if its too high, say hello to FSX

March 7, 2012 4:16 AM

Looks good. But only DLCs coming that costs money?

Still waiting for ===

- TrackIR

- FFB Effects

- Multiplayer interaction Coop and vs Missions.

Until that isnt realised i wont buy anything, sorry.

March 7, 2012 7:38 AM

I just like to know when is coming?

Cause I'm getting out of things to do in Hawaii.

And like other say, please dont overprice.

March 7, 2012 7:48 AM

Wow looks great, I can't wait !

March 7, 2012 7:58 AM

Looks great, hope for reasonable price.

Also I hope for an plane with the DLC.

March 7, 2012 9:03 AM

Good news.  Based on the cost of the extra islands in Hawaii I've calculated that the DLC for Alaska will only cost 381975 Microsoft Points...

March 7, 2012 10:14 AM

On a lighter note, please post CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I'm sick and tired reading comments like 'it sucks' or 'it's great'. Have something meaningful to say. I did. I WANT TRACK IR SUPPORT.

Also after playing multiplayer a lot and having read the 'dennyboy1' comment (see below), when I fly RV6 at high speeds the other aircraft (at some angles) appear to move in a stutter pattern. Flight developers, please address this bug.

March 6, 2012 12:17 PM

love flight have 6 core cpu nvidia 560 but have micro stutters at below 1000 ft at any speed

March 7, 2012 10:34 AM [Remove this Comment]

From the Icon web site  FAQ it says this about night flying:

Can the A5 be flown at night?

Yes, if the pilot is authorized to fly at night and the airplane is purchased with the night flying option, which includes lights and an attitude indicator, both of which are required for night VFR flight.

You guys did give it part of the night package because the plane has lights, but left out the attitude indicator.  Any chance of getting this added?

A nice scenery

But the france ??

March 7, 2012 12:55 PM

How do I clear my profile? I've beenn flying around crashing, having a good time, but now I want to get serious, even pay for it.

Please message me at xbox live or what ever or here.

March 7, 2012 1:45 PM

Love it!

But i hope it isnt overpriced

In my opinion the additional planes should cost about 160 MP

March 7, 2012 3:23 PM

Seeing as there is no where else to post suggestions I'll do it here.

I'd like to add some role-playing to the mix. That is I would like to have the option of a career mode with the player starting of with an old banged up crate (an old cessna perhaps) and taking odd jobs to earn enough cash to buy better and better aircrafts and perhaps adding a bit of certifactes as well so that eventually you could end up piloting a 747 and the like. This career mode has to be fully optional of course but I could see it being a ton of fun in multiplayer as well. Perhaps competing for the same contract, two players entering a partnership etc. I believe that you are on to something big here and I for one are truly enjoying myself, now to bring on more DLC already :-)

March 7, 2012 3:50 PM

nice to  see

but i  hope  that  i have the  same feelings when i  flying over the misty fjords but in FS9 ( exp)

But im a GA  flyer (bushflying) ( not for real)  :(

I  hope  that  comes  of  a new airplanes

The Piper cup ( bigwheels - Floads)

De Beaver, De Otter, DC 3 ( ampf ) or a Cessna 206 (ampf) and Skywagon :)

March 7, 2012 4:31 PM

great suggestion, that would be a great addition to the game instead of just repeating flights for stats..

would be nice that have a kind of tycoon mode also, but that is a long way from what flight SIM is...

I had NO IDEA about Aeroflight FS...  MS definitely has their work cut out for them with this sim on the market.. It looks to smoke X-Plane 10 (I have X-Plane 9 and I'm not a huge fan...) and MS if they don't keep up.  It is QUITE stunning... Thanks for the heads up on that one. :)

As for Flight.  I am a bit disappointed in some of the aspects of the game/sim.  At this point it does feel more like a ''game'' than a sim.  There are many things missing which make previous MS Sims, well, MS Sims... land areas, aircraft, third party support, real world weather, dynamic scenery ect... If your not flying online in Flight, the ''world'' feels very empty and dry... the ground scenery looks nice, but the buildings and other items feel very bland.

The weather ''feels'' very static... You set it and it's there and doesn't really change, clouds don't seem to move ect...   Actually the whole game/sim feels very static at the moment.  There is no ATC chatter, Auto Pilot doesn't work, nav radio's don't work, landing feels very ''guided'', ect... There is a LOT missing still.

However, I am holding out hope there is a ''Flight SP1'' in route that will address these issues, or at least some DLC for dynamic scenery... not that I would BUY it, it should be there already...  This game/sim has a LOT of potential, I'd hate to see them blow it after such huge success with FSX and previous MS Flight Sims.

I like a nice balance of scenery, realism, area's, aircraft ect... I don't need the ''hard coreness'' of a military or government level flight sim.  However, I do need ''some realism''.  It's a delicate balance to not alienate new simmers with old time guys (like me...) who want the details...

Speaking of details... remember, the devil is in them. :)

March 7, 2012 6:44 PM

After buying hawaii package, game frequently locks up on me.

Also when attempting to join session in progress.

A most frustrating day.

March 7, 2012 6:49 PM

Plus, I keep getting timed out of the server after a few mintes. Arrrrgghhh!

March 7, 2012 7:52 PM

Keeps crashing on me.

March 7, 2012 9:00 PM

The Alaska DLC looks nice however I have to agree with the other posters in hoping that its reasonably priced if MS is indeed trying to appeal to the casual gamer.

March 7, 2012 10:16 PM

I want all of Florida including the Keys and Bahamas ASAP!!

March 7, 2012 10:19 PM

Please make the DLC affordable!, and add some heavy, fast airplanes.

Are you planning to add ATC and AI traffic?

March 7, 2012 10:25 PM

Please consider making a DLC to transform Flight to a more simulation experience, that DLC would be available to those, me included, that wants more realism and less "kid's game"

I'd definitely buy that DLC to have ATC, Navigation, Real World Weather, complex aircrafts, support for complex joysticks assignments such as my MCP pro from GoFlight

Thanks :)

March 7, 2012 10:25 PM

by the way, Alaska looks stunning, great work!

March 7, 2012 11:27 PM

I feel like summing up what most of the community is saying in one post to help you guys out. What we want as a community (from what i've gathered) are planes that cost around 160-240 MS points ea., not 640 or 1200 (or 1600 for 3-5, come on, that's what most full DLC packs cost for Xbox games). We also want this Alaskan DLC to not be overpriced or if at all possible, free, as we have a lot of choices for flight simulators out there where we get the entire Earth and tons of planes (albeit lower quality) for around $30 and can download user-created planes and locations. We hope to see either Continental America and/or Europe (either at the same price of the Hawaii DLC or less to free) in the future. In the matter of planes, personally, i would appreciate the Maule costing less so i can actually do the cargo missions without sacrificing that many MS points and really want some jet planes or some big planes to run large passenger transport missions with.

March 7, 2012 11:30 PM

Oh, and i must say that Alaska looks amazing and i can't wait to play it and then enhance my experience with this game with my new computer later this year. I've made a personal promise to myself that i will buy this DLC so long as it includes either a jet plane, helicopter, cargo plane or all 3

March 8, 2012 1:16 AM

The older simulators have advantages today but you can surely see where this is going and I must say I like it.   All the bells and whistles will come in time and you wont have to wonder about patches and upgrades like FSX.   Not to mention I can actually play smoothly  with the system I have today.

March 8, 2012 2:33 AM

Fantastic ! Way to go team !

To all FSX complainers , ( I used to be one too ) put your money ( and your FS experience ) where your mouth is and fly the FLIGHT missions. Underneath the ' easy ' missions lie a goldmine of thrills and challenges ( IMC ILS conditions  the lot ) so scary and real, that it will send shivers down any salted simmers spine ! FLIGHT is truly a Flight Sim with  UNLIMITED potential.

I  dare you to try !

March 8, 2012 7:46 AM

@ tokkeloshman unfurtunately tokkeloshman your not being honest are you. i've completed all missions and challenges, only one is ils, and not strictly ils either.

March 8, 2012 8:02 AM

2 wishes

1. dont over price it

2. if you going to release new aircraft, i want tutorails for em. i know REAL PILOTS thats still cant land the maul

March 8, 2012 9:57 AM

Before you release Alaska, will there be an update to Hawaii for bug fixing?

Are there any plans to release some additional (free) missions for Hawaii? There are to few, except the Maule jobs. Need some more kayakers to rescue ;) And some more missions for the icon would be great too.

March 8, 2012 10:24 AM

Good News but i`m waiting for:

-AI Pilots

-more correct working Avionics, ATC

-professional Mode

-better MP code (when host leave the session, all other players gets kicked) (in many other GFWL Titles, players become the host when the admin left the session)

March 8, 2012 1:13 PM

Sounds like another Hawaiian Island rip off this time set in Alaska get your Microsoft points ready folks.

March 8, 2012 2:08 PM

I'm thinking that we could possibly be getting a new Airliner as add-on aircraft? The Boeing 787 dreamliner would be a perfect introduction for ILS landings.

What remains to be seen is the release of AI, (ground vehicles on roads, moving airport service vehicles, realistic real world airliners.) Real world weather...

Another thing that bothers me and needs some tweaking are the clouds! They just don't seem to look very good, they could have been better. Let's hope they will fix this too, eventually.

March 8, 2012 2:56 PM

i just think you guys are taking to long, the flight is really good the apperence is just great perfomence is something hard to explain maybe 0 to 10 i give 12 to perfomance the planes desing is just perfect you are doing a great job but just taking to long and please this flight is for an universal comunity but gives us the choise to flight like a real plane and to flight with the easy way, there are people that just want to fly, and those that just love to touch in everything inside a plane. we can make new friends whithout disapointing the olds ones

March 8, 2012 2:58 PM

Uhh, what's DLC ?

March 8, 2012 3:22 PM

DLC means downloadable content

March 8, 2012 3:23 PM

Very excited about the Alaska scenery!

March 8, 2012 5:36 PM

Thanks Strato

March 8, 2012 6:00 PM

Looks nice indeed... But how much for this??? Flight Sim became only a cash generating software... That's a shame. : (

March 8, 2012 7:59 PM

When in flying sessions, why do other planes disappear after a few seconds?

March 8, 2012 8:33 PM

Is there a new helicopter?

March 8, 2012 8:47 PM

I'm not asking too much... give me a DC-3 with almost real physics and procedures (check lists, mixture and propeller, air turbulence, fuel and cargo load balance, etc), fully functional radio navigation (VOR/NDB/DME, GPS not necessary), and charts for all Alaska airports... that's enough to have fun for a long time.

March 9, 2012 5:49 AM

I hope there's a new aircraft...

March 9, 2012 11:30 AM

I'm suprised nobody has asked the obvious question:  Will your planes in the Hawaiian Adventure be transferable to Alaska and visa versa.  It would be awsome to fly a P-51 Mustang around Alaska.  I hope it also covers the Alutian Islands and the lower part of Alaska around Sitka which is beautiful.

March 9, 2012 11:32 AM

After Alaska, I would suggest Ireland or France.  During the Tour de France, they show gorgeous scenery and castles from the helicoptors.

March 9, 2012 3:10 PM

they said "1.5 million kilometers" not 1.5 million miles. also states in the description, its ~600,000 square miles.

March 9, 2012 5:55 PM

When is it going to be released?

selbie dog
March 9, 2012 11:48 PM

These DLC really need to be cheaper if they are only providing 1 or 2 aircraft for each pack. I'd only pay the same amount for the next if they put in radio, AI and a proper multiplayer server browser so groups can more easily fly together.

March 10, 2012 4:38 AM

Thanks MS for your effort, but for Serious Simmers like me (and many more) we love to simulate nor playing around with planes.

For serious simmers, XPlane10 or  FS2004 and maybe (if you can afford a gooooood PC) FSX.

March 10, 2012 5:00 AM

Alaska is my favourite spot for bush flying, really looking forward this update. I like Flight very much, especially for it's detailed terrain and overally very and smoothly running graphic. What Iam still missing is ATC and AI planes, and also please add some normal map with road network, cities, landmarks etc. and add option for removing the target marker, it spoils all VFR and IFR fun. I would like to fly missions and jobs  with the target airfield marked just on the map and use IFR and VFR to get there.

Regarding the aircraft for Alaska, it definitely must contain Beaver, preferably on wheels, floats and skis, and ski option for Maule would be also nice.

March 10, 2012 8:10 AM

I hope this dlc come out soon and that cost us another heritage but you could not charge a subscription for more dlc?

if we fix the problem of the clouds in a straight line would be great, add a larger number of rescue missions and the game is fantastic!

keep it up and maybe next dlc do about Italy!

March 10, 2012 9:51 AM

Wielange muss man noch warten?

How long must we wait?

March 10, 2012 12:51 PM

and the release date is......?

March 10, 2012 1:11 PM

Very nice screenshots.  I am looking forward to flying Alaska soon!!!

PS: I hope there are new aircraft...something for snowy mountains!!

March 10, 2012 1:22 PM

I've tried this game for a while (yes, because it's a game, not a sim anymore), carried out the free missions, and I think I won't waste a minute more on it (and, of course, no money at all).

I can't understand the guys who ask for a 787 or any other big jetliner, but they don't want to learn how to fly. I think it'd be much better if you got a real simulator, joined IVAO or VATSIM, and a virtual airline with an academy, and learn how to fly as real as it gets. It's a bit hard and long way, but you could fly using real procedures, with real controlers (people, not machines). Be sure you would enjoy this much more. You will never get this by playing this game.

March 10, 2012 9:24 PM

Looks great, I almost done with Hawaii and have enjoyed it. I have bought all the DLC but seems kind of expensive. I don't mind paying but I expect quality product and more full aircraft with cockpits. I'm looking forward to what's to come just keep it reasonable. Also it would be nice if companies kept in mind customers that have bought all the DLC and maybe give them a bit of a cost break. Thanks

March 11, 2012 6:11 AM

Hi! There is no autopilot in any cockpit of the different FLIGHT aircraft. I dont want to jump to a waypoint - thats far away from reality - so I still miss the autopilot feature.

Happy landings to all FLIGHT pilots

March 11, 2012 12:35 PM

Great great news !! Hoppe the Twin-Otter is include, and some other bush plane.

March 11, 2012 2:23 PM

March 11, 2012 4:55 PM

Alaska looks great ... all I need are skiis for the Maule

March 11, 2012 9:11 PM

Looks good but will the price be right?

March 11, 2012 9:40 PM

Would be nice if they released planes with skis, another water plane, and a bigger passenger plane.  Missions could include dropping off hunters, fishermen, and hikers.  Time sensitive missions would be a welcome change of pace as well.

March 11, 2012 9:51 PM

Oh this is gonna be great!  What part of the 600,000 square miles will be free like what you did in Hawaii?

March 12, 2012 4:34 AM

Looks good, would be interested in making a purchase if the current prices are cut in half.

March 12, 2012 8:23 AM

600,000 sq miles that's at least maybe an a320 or I'm over asking at this time lol. :) can't wait keep up the good work guys!.

March 12, 2012 10:39 AM

Please give us more and bigger planes, make it cheaper and more challenges !!!

March 13, 2012 9:17 AM

March 13, 2012 9:51 AM

When??? GIVE US DATES !!!

March 13, 2012 9:22 PM

Another week or two and I'll reload X.... $30 for a n island and a couple of planes???? I could buy 5 new copies of X for that...... Starting to look like this just for kids and ipeople. Let's serious Mr. Gates.

March 14, 2012 3:26 PM

I am a client of microsoft flight for 12 years, I have already bought all the dlc of flight 2012

I'm convincing my friends to buy them but they do not buy for these reasons-

towers do not work

autopilot does not work

not present air traffic, ships and cars.

urgent to let us know something else all friends including myself do not buy.

March 14, 2012 11:50 PM

PLEASE, PPLLLEEEAAASSEEEE connect Alaska and Hawaii!  This would force you to INTRODUCE JETS!

It's open-ocean between HI and AK, so PLEASE release this pack soon, make it able to fly between them, and make HI cheaper.  (Also include a free jet and fix autopilot, online voice-chat (currently crap over 8 people) and other traffic)

...then I'll buy the already overpriced DLC.

March 15, 2012 8:03 AM

Helo??? Are you there??? Please ask for our questions.... We waiting....

AI traffic?

What plane?

When new DLC? Day? Week? Month? Year?

March 15, 2012 9:48 AM

PLEASE MICROSOFT FLIGHT TEAM----> make the cirrus sr-20, 22, 22t  and  the diamond da-42....that would be great, its a great game and with these aircraft it would be even nicer :)

and maybe a helicopter like the robinson r-66 turbine helicopter

and maybe a glider plane like in fsx the dg 808 or some other gliders, because on hawaii you have to fly a glider :)

thx, and I hope you read this comment and make this aircrafts :D

March 15, 2012 11:39 AM

To all the FSX complainers who moan that FSX was sooo real and FLight is sooo 'game-like': How many of you actually flew those default planes around for more than a couple of minutes? Especially the jets. No, I didn't think so, because, really, they were pretty average and you needed to buy add-ons to get realism anyway. And If you lived in a city that was modelled in detail, you ended up with a slideshow. If you lived anywhere else, your location was probably modelled in lowwww detail anyway.

My point is, I'd rather have a few detailed, quality aircraft and locations to choose to buy, rather than a swag of generic rubbish. I've been to Hawaii a couple of times and love picking out spots I have been before. Sure you could do that in FSX, but the suspension of disbelief is just great in Flight.

To MS: Good so far, but you just need to put a few more options in. Option to remove point of interest and multiplayer labels would be a start. You didn't really come out of the starting gates with any gusto either. Flight doesn't really have any appeal to any one group. It needs its own 'killer app'. FSX's (and others before) was the whole world's scenery and 'as real as it gets'. Flight's is......what? "Fly cheap VFR aircraft that you could probably afford yourself, on long, boring cargo flights, around a popular tourist destination to earn points that give you no unlocks". Not really catchy I'm afraid. Sure >>>I<<< like flying around, but you need something to hook the cool kids. Right now I'm not sure what that might be, but I'd be happy to join a brainstorming session. Let's start off with 'what makes a game enjoyable'? See ya.

March 16, 2012 11:40 AM

To MS: great job, I love controling the planes with my mouse, and Flight still looks good with a great framerate on my 5 years old laptop! The missions/challenges are fun, but too few.

1) 20$ for the Hawai pack is waaay too expensive. I would price at 5$ maximum. You would sell a lot more (probably more than 4 times as much), and you would keep people interested in the next evolutions of the product, and make them repeat buyers of cheap expension packs. Do you want to make flight accessible? Make it cheap.

2) my second point is: make it addictive. How about rewards for progressing in the game, like unlocking bigger airplaine for free (or 2$ max). How about more emphasis on the career (from this seaplane to a 747?). What is not fun and not challenging should probalby be left to the free mode (like checklists).

You are sitting on a gold mine, but you will be able to harvest it only if you stay true to your statement: make flight accessible and fun.

March 17, 2012 3:09 AM

What you guys should do with the next release, is actually give us a release window, even if its no a specific date. something like between "this" date and "this" date we plan to release such and such DLC. this at least gives people who are getting bored with the current content, (which is a lot of us btw) something to look forward to, instead of just sitting here twiddling our thumbs and eventually just giving up on the game all together. i don't want to do that though, i really enjoy this game, but how many times can i fly someone to get a burger or do a cargo run??? i mean, "very soon" doesn't exactly tell us much... actually it doesn't tell us anything at all.... thanks for everything you guys are doing, i know your job isn't exactly easy by any means, but it would be nice to know that you guys are actually listening to us little guys out here :-).

March 17, 2012 3:46 AM

Gratuit je veux bien, abusé pas sur le prix des DLC!

March 17, 2012 12:16 PM

I am enjoying this game , and want to see it continue to evolve.  A couple of ideas for you:

Faster load times for the games and game sections.  I have read every informational message at least 3 times while the program loads up.  In fact, there should be an achievement / award for "Avid Reader - 300 of 100 messages read".  I am looking forward to the Alaska pack, can you give us a better ballpark guess than "coming soon"?  Will it be in 2012?  Before June?

Thanks again!

March 17, 2012 3:21 PM

I'd realy like to see the carribean islands back in flight

March 17, 2012 3:21 PM

free dlc?

March 17, 2012 3:48 PM

NEEDED: Faster aircraft for the longer distance between Alaska and Hawaii.

Wanted: Faster, agile aircraft for long-range missions/jobs AND fun daredevil stunts.  Suggested aircraft: F-117, F-14, F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22, F-35, etc.  Thank you.

This game is fun, handles smoothly, and looks great.

@JoblessLake8 Great suggestion.

March 18, 2012 7:52 AM

Hope it doesn't cost too much because the Hawaii and plane add-ons are a rip off already!

March 18, 2012 4:18 PM

This looks great and I cannot wait for it to be out.  Hope they release a ballpark timeframe soon.  I am also hoping it is not very expensive, and part of the dlc should be free.  Maybe like part of the Aleutian Islands, or a wildlife reserve.

March 18, 2012 8:09 PM

Can't wait for this DLC. I hope there is more then one new plane that also comes with the DLC =)

Von Queca
March 19, 2012 3:29 AM

Please consider including a nice/representative glider in the DLC :-)

March 19, 2012 7:15 AM

This should be worth the $20 but it needs more planes, maybe a jet or an arcrobatic plane

Ex Fatal Kill
March 19, 2012 7:33 PM

Great gameplay. Great controls. Great realism. But IT COSTS TOO MUCH. Planes, like most small addons from the Marketplace, should be 160msp. Not 640. PLUS, it's still not even a full plane, with no cockpit. I agree with one of the earlier posts, who suggested a more of a story. Start out with a beater plane, maybe an old Cessna 152, and do odd jobs until you can afford something better. I know somewhere in the game during one of the hint screens during loading, it mentioned something about purchasing property, yet, there is no monetary system even IN the game. This would be cool, and would give us more reason to play than just fly around aimlessly, since everything bought is automatically unlocked. We should buy Alaska, but not for too much, with about 10-15 vehicles, and have to play the story to unlock them. In my opinion, nothing needs changed game-wise, but I don't want to keep getting ripped off.

March 20, 2012 7:32 AM

March 20, 2012 11:33 AM

This looks ace, but the price needs to be sensible. As someone else has posted, I'm happy to pay a fair price for a good game, but dont really want to shell out £/$ 000's on a 'game' however good it may / may not be.

Flight is great, and hopefully it'll attract some new 'customers' to flight sims, but MS need to make sure they are not taking liberties out of people!

March 21, 2012 12:52 PM

Add Track-ir support and 'ill be a winner!!!

March 22, 2012 1:10 AM

awesome a state no one rrealizes is important.... people think alaska is smaller than texas especcially at school...

March 22, 2012 12:16 PM

So far, the game is looking great.  I'll admit that I'm still firing up FSX to get some variety, but I'm excited to see where this game will go, and hopefully someday I can cut the cord with FSX.  However, we're not there yet.

I want to give you guys great praise for trying to shake things up and take the franchise in a new direction, and I'll assume that you guys have modeled out your pricing scheme, so while I did feel a little disappointed with what I got for the Hawaii Adventure Pack, I'll trust that you guys know what you're doing.

However, I have to say that I'm rather disappointed with the engagement with the fans.  People are bringing forth many ideas, concerns, and questions, and where is the MS Flight team?  Most of us fans are realistic and know that there are some things we just can't know, but can there at least be a little bit of two-way communication?  Many of us fans are begging for answers.  It's ok if you can't answer our questions, but at least acknowledge some of our concerns and make it feel like we're being heard if not accommodated.

I've been an MSFS fan and customer for nearly two decades now.  Please start engaging some of us publicly, either here, or on Facebook, or anywhere.  MS Flight personnel who have given interviews acknowledge that they knew they were going to upset "simmers" with the direction they chose for the franchise, but then sound jaded about the reaction of the simmers.

Please do not simply dismiss the "simmers" as unproductive whiners.  Many of us do have great ideas, and are simply trying to be included in the journey that is Microsoft Flight.  Do not be afraid to engage us.  While many of us are sad that FS11 wasn't the direction that was taken, we accept the fact that business decisions had to be made, and that we are now a minority target market.  Productive dialogue can still take place, and I hope that there's win-win strategy.

March 24, 2012 10:20 PM

Can't wait!

March 26, 2012 7:10 AM

Looks great, will probably buy it to do some 'flying wild Alaska' :)

I do desperately want TrackIr support though, i think with the ease of implementing it with the NaturalPoint SDK there is no good reason NOT to have support!

March 26, 2012 3:23 PM

Looks fun!!! :)

March 27, 2012 7:49 PM

How about some San Francisco or Seattle scenery?

March 28, 2012 8:53 AM

Will the towns and cities of Alaska have suffered the same destruction of life that has happened in Hawaii? No cars ,other planes in the sky and generally dull and lifeless.

Also how will I escape from Hawaii to Alaska do I need to buy M/S Train sim as I  WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FLY THERE WILL I?.

Sorry maybe M/s ship sim is needed any plans for this as maybe a $25.00 add-on think of the revenue guys you know it makes sense mwuhahahahahah.

March 28, 2012 1:35 PM

As many other members mentioned, while I am very excited for the Alaska Pack, I am seriously concerned about the precedent this is setting. $50.00 would be the absolute max I would be willing to spend, and then I would need to be sure that this game has potential in terms of more aircraft, and eventually a world map. Charging for Hawaii and then again for Alaska is ridiculous, especially if there are more packs along the way. Unless I suppose owning one pack means that the next packs cost less than $10 USD. Either that or I am not even going to try the Alaska or Hawaii Packs, and it appears that there are plenty with me on this. Love the game, but I am seriously concerned where the prices are going.

March 28, 2012 1:46 PM

where is ALASKA!!!!

Release it PLS!

March 30, 2012 1:43 AM

i hope the next DLC is Australia

March 31, 2012 10:43 AM

Is there a reason why you removed the "release in spring" ???!!

Please give us an update on the coming releases. A sneak peek to your roadmap would be nice ;)

April 1, 2012 4:49 PM

if you the creater and is reading this can you add china (if possible along with the great wall) a V.T.O.L. plane with the flying fortress please reply asap

Looking very nice, you guys should partner with Air Alaska and put some of their actuall missions from the T.V. show. That would make it exciting because I'm a big fan of their show! And one more thing, you should add Colorado because it is a nice place to fly. It brings in a lot of pilots who want a challange flying through the rocky mountians! One last thing, bring back the Cessna 182!!!!!!

I miss that old bird from the old MS 2000. That was the only one I flew and I fly it in real life now.

Great game  - would like some new aircraft - how about F86 Sabre or PBY Catalina? Might get to Alaska from Hawaii in the Catalina!

I thing that it is very interesting!!But i think you should give it free because this is suppossed to be flight simulator. Also some guys cant afraid all the addons. Now the game is very boring no missions, only one island, only two planes. But if you give it free the game will be more excited with the  Dassault Falcon 2000 and a whole new enviroment!!!!One guy said that:You are sitting on a gold mine, but you will be able to harvest it only if you stay true to your statement: MAKE FLIGHT ACCESSIBLE AND FUN.This wait.

Please give it free.

A comment on the funeral day: It was a good boy played FS95, FS2002, FS2004 A Century of Flight also. FSX really enjoy ... He died dreaming of a full Microsoft Flight. Rest in peace this naive dreamer.

I do almost all my FS9 flying in Alaska so I'm very keen to fly there in MSF...Personally, the Icon will suit me around Alaska.

I'm very fond of MS Flight already and will purchase all add-ons.

I wanna see the supermarine spitfire because it's a legend and I made one out of airfix!!!!!

I hope they release Europe soon .. that's where I would love to fly the most .. take B737 from London to Prague, Rome, Paris :)

looking promising, but yeah, also bit scared about $$$$ ... FSX you got a lot of planes and locations for $60 , here it might take quite more $$$ to get similar amount of data

I have mixed feelings about Microsoft Flight vs. FSX or X-Plane. The graphics are nicer than my older computer generates with FSX, however, it's not as complex for those of us who like a more realistic experience. I can fly the online version with a stick and throttle without throwing any switches, using GPS, or even looking at the control panel. I also agree with those who are concerned with the price of each update for new content. I can't afford $50 or more each time I want to fly somewhere new. I can do that with X-Plane or FSX. Any plans for some bigger planes for download?

Looks promising so far but all we see here are pretty pictures. Eye candy is only a fraction of what makes a good quality game worth supporting and spending money on. It's the gameplay that is king. So far Microsoft Flight seems to be trying to get away with eye candy emphasis with proportionally little attention to detail and effort on gameplay elements. Targeting the casual mainstream market does not equate to making no effort to provide a great variety of good quality gameplay experiences.

Missions, Challenges, Aerocaches and Jobs are a great idea but their current implementation is woefully lacking. Once you've done about 3 tasks from each of those categories you have pretty much seen it all and from then on all these gameplay elements are handed out using a random number generated, procedurally-driven system, which is why they become insanely repetitive and boring after you've done a handful. This level of gameplay systems belongs in the 1980s. I don't care how great Flight looks if I'm bored to tears within a couple of hours because of a lack of variety of things to experience. There needs to be serious efforts made with whatever scripting capabilities exist in the Flight platform to serve up a greater saturation and larger variety of things to actually do in the game.

The Alaska DLC size of 600k square miles is about the right level of content size I'm interested in. I was not impressed at the cost of the Hawaiian Adventure for the given square miles of coverage. I like slow-moving light aircraft but I'm more interested in faster-moving planes like twin-engine and jets so you'll need something the size of Alaska to cater for these aircraft, but at what price?

The Alaska DLC will be the litmus test of just how Microsoft will be perceived in its DLC policy. Let's hope they do not shoot themselves in the foot with this next DLC and being perceived as a nickel-n-dime, low-quality DLC release company. I for one will be judging them based on price and visual quality of the scenery work being done by ORBX and its products for Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D simulators. Their Pacific Northwest scenery is superb and a good example of what you can achieve at the £35-£40 price point. Microsoft really do need to start bringing in scenery content help from established companies like ORBX to provide greater frequency of releases and greater choice of location. Maybe even greater choice in level of detail for scenery, much like their level of detail choices for Deluxe aircraft or cockpit-less offerings?

Since Alaska has an area of 650,000 square miles, it seems that they are going to cover the whole state. With over 600 airports, according to FSX, the DLC is going to be a big one. I expect that it will be a little more expensive than Hawaii, which only gave us around twenty airports to add to the free content. I have no qualms about spending forty dollars for the DLC especially if they include a couple good aircraft, which seem to go for twenty to thirty dollars a piece in FSX.

i really dont understand why ppl keep moaning about the price, dont forget the initial game is free, nobody works for free, so let them charge for there work,

my only grip is no cockpit view on DLC planes, unflyable in my opinion and wish id had known before i purchased them as there a complete waste of money

May 6, 2012 1:11 PM

Oh i see Wolfe, you dont understand why people gripe about the cost, then you gripe about the cost, thats rich.

I'm willing to pay a fair price for quality, as long as EVERY aircraft has a panel i'm fine. When they dont they'll hear about it. Half Life would sell expansions called Episodes, we paid usually $10 or so for each, and they were big. I'm hoping MS can use the same example in releasing their product. Twenty dollars for a single aircraft is foolish at best, however, twenty dollars for a pack of aircraft is reasonable. The product and the game will sell for years to come, no need to panic and charge too much to begin with, in time you will reap the revenue, as long as you dont abuse your demographic by overcharging for what is basically a fantasy product.

I hope that it soon coming some decent aircraft like boeing 737, this starts to become boring, liker much better flight simulator x.

And I am very disappointed with this game, had great expectations, but its only old aircraft :(
